How to Record iPhone and iPad Screen?

By default, you cannot record the screen of any of your iOS devices. This is a security measure put in place by Apple. If the said app is malicious it could continue recording your screen without your knowledge; hence giving it access to password and account information as you enter them.

You can use software such as Reflector and Good Screen Recorder Lite which will allow you to record the screen of your iPhone and iPad, but only through a computer and at a fee. There is also an app called Cydia that lets you record right from your device, but you will first have to jailbreak it.
The last and probably the best option is an app called Shou. This app allows you to record directly from your iOS device without jailbreaking it or using a computer. Unfortunately, this app is not available on App Store so you have to sideload it. This app works on both iOS 8 and iOS 7. Here is how to go about it:
Step 1: Install Emu4iOS Store
Using your device, go to emu4ios.net. Download and install the Emu4iOS Store. From this store, you can now download apps that are not available on the official iOS App Store without jailbreaking your device. Once you have downloaded and installed the app, open it and select Trust.
Step 2: Install Shou
On Emu4iOS, you will find plenty of apps. Search for Shou, a screen recording app and tap on it. Select install. On the pop up that will appear asking whether you want to confirm installation, select install.
Step 3: Screen Record, Play, & Save
Before you can use the Shou app, you will need to create an account. You can use your Google+ or Facebook credentials or simply sign up with your email address. Once you are past that hurdle, you can start using the app. To start recording your screen, tap on Start Recording. A red Shou banner will appear at the top of your screen. This is a sign that the app is currently recording.

To stop recording, tap on the red banner or open Shou and click on Stop Recording. To view the recording, go to the Recording tab in the app. You can play it with another app, save or delete them.
Performance of the App
The app runs smoothly for the most part except when trying to record high definition videos on YouTube and other video sharing sites. The lag under these circumstances is understandable and can be forgiven since you will not be recording YouTube videos after all. Unless this is your primary need for the app, it will work just fine for most of your screen recording tasks.
Other than that slight mishap, Shou is a well designed simple and easy to use app that works perfectly well. You can use it to show off some of the tweaks you have made on your phone and also some tricks in apps – especially games.
